About the artist

Hi, I’m Chris, and this is my loyal companion, Lotte. Together, we create meaningful, handcrafted maps inspired by our love for the outdoors and the importance of special locations. Every place tells a story, and I aim to capture those moments in the maps I design.

Our journey started with a Valentine’s Day gift for my girlfriend—a custom map of our home, marking the places that shaped our story: where we met, our first kiss, our favorite cafe, and the paths we walk with Lotte. Seeing how much it meant to her, I realized I wanted to help others give the gift of cherished memories.

For me, this work is about more than creating maps; it’s about building a life I love. I’ve always been passionate about art, craftsmanship, and working with wood. There's something deeply fulfilling in turning raw materials into something beautiful and unique. I believe the key to happiness is doing what you love, and that’s exactly what Timber Tale is all about.

Will I be able to see the map before production?

Yes! We will send you a 3D render of the final result. A full refund is available until you approve this image for production.

What icons can I use on my map?

We have a list of icons available in the product images. If you have special requests for icons that are not there already then we will create these icons for you at no extra cost.

Can I write a message on the map?

Yes! You can request to write a custom message on the back or on the front of the map. While we usually write the name of the location on the front of the map, you are free to write anything there!

How are the maps produced?

All of our maps are hand made with love. We use laser cutting to cut out the different layers of a map and from there everything is done by our skilled hands.

What would be the perfect gift for my loved one?

Here are some ideas for maps:

1. For that special someone, you could create a map detailing your home city displaying meaningful locations - your home, the location of your first kiss, the place you met and so on.

2. For your mom & dad, you could order a map displaying his favorite fishing location or the location of a trip you took together.
